The Sierra Corps Forestry Fellowship Program is seeking enthusiastic, conservation-minded people to commit to a year-long fellowship working to restore Sierra forests and build resilient communities. The Sierra Nevada Alliance has two Fellowship position openings in Chico and Mammoth Lakes, California for a year of forest-health related employment. Positions start in January/February 2021 and go through December 2021.
Fellows will be placed to work at either CSU Chico Ecological Reserves or Eastern California Water Association/American Forests to help build their organization and region’s capacity to complete meaningful forest restoration and wildfire resilience work.  Fellows will complete work in assessment, monitoring, planning, project permitting, project management, grant writing, and other essential forest restoration implementation tasks.  Specific Host Site position descriptions can be found on the Sierra Corps website here:
  • The Chico position requires that candidates that have experience leading field crews and operating chainsaws for forest restoration purposes.
  • The Mammoth position requires that candidates have experience managing projects independently, working with diverse stakeholders, and experience with California and Sierra forest restoration principles.

2020 12 08 SNA Hiring Fellows
The Emergency Operations Center (EOC) is now accepting request forms for the COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Program 2nd round. The amount approved by Tribal Council for the application is $837 per Tribal member (this is based on the remaining funding that the Tribe received through the CARES Act). Request Forms were mailed to all Tribal members with updated addresses on Thursday, December 3, 2020. Applications must be filled out COMPLETELY to be accepted, and are due to Tribal Headquarters on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
