The Sierra Corps Forestry Fellowship Program is seeking enthusiastic, conservation-minded people to commit to a year-long fellowship working to restore Sierra forests and build resilient communities. The Sierra Nevada Alliance has two Fellowship position openings in Chico and Mammoth Lakes, California for a year of forest-health related employment. Positions start in January/February 2021 and go through December 2021.
Fellows will be placed to work at either CSU Chico Ecological Reserves or Eastern California Water Association/American Forests to help build their organization and region’s capacity to complete meaningful forest restoration and wildfire resilience work. Fellows will complete work in assessment, monitoring, planning, project permitting, project management, grant writing, and other essential forest restoration implementation tasks. - The Chico position requires that candidates that have experience leading field crews and operating chainsaws for forest restoration purposes.
- The Mammoth position requires that candidates have experience managing projects independently, working with diverse stakeholders, and experience with California and Sierra forest restoration principles.
